AUGUST

AUGUST is a Berlin menswear label run by two fashion designers, Magdalena Kohler and Josephin Thomas. The label creates casual menswear with patterns based on favourite garments. AUGUST offers a range of sweaters, shirts, t-shirts and blousons, bags and accessories.

The collection "Somewhere" tells a visual story about longing, joy and melancholy. The main colors are pastels – tender colors and shiny raindrops for daring boys.

We worked with transparency and nudity, with sportiness and elegance, with glamour and humorous fashionableness.
In every collection we involve a manual element to open the door for incalculability and coincidences. This time we painted on fabric by hand, inspired by subtle and delicate watercolour painting. There are rainbow stripes on pants or soft blots on sweaters, which look unintentional, almost like a mistake, almost faded away. This time we also created jewelry out of silver and rainbow acrylic glass. We use a lot of organic cotton fabrics and wool from Italy.

The knitted sweaters and shirts are produced in Germany. Because of the individual handpaintings, we produce most of the pieces by ourselves in our studio in Berlin Kreuzberg.
