Isaac Spiewak, a native of Warsaw, Poland, came to New York in 1903. His first customers were the dock workers on New York’s booming waterfront. He started his company with the goal of bringing his family to America and all six of his sons joined the firm.
Since 1904, Spiewak has produced enduring uniforms for the U.S. armed forces, emergency and transportation services that protect and perform. During the post-War boom, the company broadened its scope of operations.
Veterans returned from overseas turned military looks like the bomber jacket and snorkel parka into streetwear, developing a huge new consumer market for the firm.
In the uniform sector, Spiewak adapted its flight apparel to meet the needs of ground crews at American airlines and still produces it 50 years later.
In 1974, Spiewak outfitted the U.S. Olympic Ski Team and this led to the set off of an avalanche of active/outerwear looks in fashion.
Moreover the brand has developed high-performance gear for mountaineering, skiing and snowboarding, but also garments dedicated to worker safety and comfort thanks to weather protection and reflective safety fabrics, garments that are water-proof breathable, lock out rain and snow, with patented innovations for unprecedented comfort features.
The present and future brand core-values are based on utility, innovation, quality and authenticity, with the aim to provide outerwear with material solutions suitable for all modern needs.
The collection is divided in two lines: the former “Spiewak”, an outerwear range for men and women focusing on modern details, fabrics and in the van cuts with a unique style, while the latter “Spiewak Golden Fleece” is an offer of pieces took from the historical archive of the American label, a collection based on the relaunch of special pieces from its own rich history.
The brand collections are designed in New York, combining icons of “historical” heritage of the brand with a modern futuristic vision and a significant attention to the usage of sustainable materials, such as 100% recycled feathers.
Spiewak believes that selecting recycled feathers, it allows you to give the material a second life by using it for its garments, in order to preserve raw materials.
Never forgetting its founder’s dedication to quality and durability, a tradition of innovation is what makes Spiewak a cutting edge brand, with 110 history behind.
